Isotope Science Center cotributes to isotope-related researches in various field, by providing equipment and facilities to researchers at the university of Tokyo. The joint-use research enables researchers to conduct research that would be difficult at the radiation facilities of individual departments.

  • Year-end and New Year's Holidays

    The Center will be closed during the year-end and New Year holidays as follows.

    Saturday, December 27, 2025 - Sunday, January 4, 2026

    Management team members will be absent on Friday, December 26.
    RI unloading, re-storage, RI waste pick-up, air conditioning operation, procedures, etc. will be suspended.
    Please request temporary entry to the controlled area and air conditioning operation must be submitted by the morning of Thursday, December 25.
    Please be careful when using the controlled area during the year-end and New Year holidays.

  • Notice of Planned Blackouts

    A power outage will occur on the following schedule.

    Sunday, December 21, 2025, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

    During the power outage, entry into the center building will be prohibited.
    Please turn off the power to all equipment, PCs, etc. that you are in charge of.

  • Restrictions on Bringing Mobile Batteries into Radiation Control Areas

    Recently, there have been a series of incidents involving mobile batteries catching fire.
    To prevent fires, bringing mobile batteries into radiation control areas is strictly prohibited.
    Additionally, please refrain from charging smartphones, tablets, PCs, and similar devices as much as possible.

    Furthermore, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing mobile batteries to the center whenever possible.
    We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring safety.

  • Notice of Fire Equipment Inspection

    Fire equipment inspection will be conducted as follows

    During the inspection, fire alarm systems in rooms may be checked and emergency bells may ring.

    　Weekly cleaning is scheduled on the week of the scheduled cleaning.
    　Please be aware that RI usage is prohibited during the scheduled cleaning week as the rooms undergo contamination inspection and decontamination. However, if you wish to use RI in the designated cleaning area after the contamination test, it is your responsibility to conduct your own contamination test and report the results to the Management Office. If you are unable to do so, please refrain from conducting any RI experiments. The designated person in charge of receiving materials is responsible for handling this matter.
