Isotope Science Center cotributes to isotope-related researches in various field, by providing equipment and facilities to researchers at the university of Tokyo. The joint-use research enables researchers to conduct research that would be difficult at the radiation facilities of individual departments.

  • Notice of Planned Blackouts

    A power outage will occur on the following schedule.

    Sunday, December 21, 2025, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

    During the power outage, entry into the center building will be prohibited.
    Please turn off the power to all equipment, PCs, etc. that you are in charge of.

    Please refer to the portal for details.

  • Collection of overtime fees for shared Joint-use

    Dear Joint-use

    For shared Joint-users using the facility on holidays and weekday evenings, an overtime fee will be charged starting in August.
    Shared Joint-users who have submitted an “Application for Change of Classification for Entering and Leaving the Radiation Controlled Area” and wish to withdraw the application form, please contact the Radiation Management Team at .
    If you do not contact us, the fee will be collected from August.
    If you have any questions, please contact the Radiation Management Team.

    Response to failure to submit overtime use notification

    Until now, in cases where overtime use notification was not submitted, if you left the management area after 7:00 p.m.
    and more than 30 minutes had passed, a warning email was sent.
    From Friday, August 1, the following changes will be made, so please be aware.

    ■ Summary of New Rules (Effective August 1)
    If the overtime usage form has not been submitted, please exit the managed area by 7:15 PM.
    The following measures will be taken thereafter:

    • Access to the managed area will be suspended.
    • Please create and submit the overtime usage form.
    • Overtime usage fees will be charged.

    Access to the managed area will be reinstated once all procedures are completed.

    The management team will not contact you, so please contact the management team directly.

    　Weekly cleaning is scheduled on the week of the scheduled cleaning.
    　Please be aware that RI usage is prohibited during the scheduled cleaning week as the rooms undergo contamination inspection and decontamination. However, if you wish to use RI in the designated cleaning area after the contamination test, it is your responsibility to conduct your own contamination test and report the results to the Management Office. If you are unable to do so, please refrain from conducting any RI experiments. The designated person in charge of receiving materials is responsible for handling this matter.

  • Notice of air conditioning equipment V-belt replacement

    Air conditioning V-belts will be replaced on the following dates.

    1 Date and time　 Tuesday, August 19, 2025 and Wednesday, August 20, 2025 9:00-17:00
    2 Vendor 　Daiwa Atomic Engineering Co.
    3 Caution　Please be careful when using isotopes in the controlled area.
    　　　　　 If the experiment requires air conditioning, we will adjust the replacement time accordingly.
    　　　　　 The air conditioner that has been requested to operate all night will resume operation
    　　　　　 as soon as it is replaced.　　　　　　

  • Notice of cleaning of elevated water tank

    The cleaning of the elevated water tank will take place according to the following schedule.

    1 Date and time: Wednesday, July 8, 2025, 9:00-15:00
    2 Advance Service
    3 Attention: Please refrain from using water as much as possible on the cleaning days of

    　　　　　 Water may fall from the south side.
